Worksop to Lincoln trains suspended for nine days of improvement works

Trains between Worksop and Lincoln will be off the tracks for nine days due to engineering works.

Network Rail said the line between Sheffield, Worksop Retford and Lincoln will be closed for nine days from Saturday, March 13 to Sunday, March 21, with Northern Rail and East Midlands Railway services affected.

The temporary suspension means that the Network Rail will be able to undertake track and signalling renewal work along the route.

To replace the Northern Rail service, buses will run between Sheffield, Worksop, Retford and Lincoln.

East Midlands Railway will continue to run services between Worksop and Nottingham as well as trains to Gainsborough Lea Road, Saxilby and Lincoln via Doncaster.

Rail replacement bus stop locations can be found on the Useful Information Posters at stations.

The line will close again for three days between Saturday, April 3 and and Monday, April 5 with further bus replacements in place.
