Manton householders take to doorsteps to clap the NHS

A video showed heartwarming scenes as grateful Worksop people clapped in unison, whistled and cheered as fireworks were set off in the background.
The joyous spectacle was repeated across the UK as thousands joined together on balconies, at windows and doorsteps to applause on Thursday at 8pm.

Hide AdA message from the NHS on social media described the tribute as ‘emotional’.
Laura Streets, 32, shared a video showing residents on Clinton Street applauding caregivers and cheering.
In the touching video her two children Maddison, 8, and Mason, 5, can be seen joining in.
Laura, a community support worker for adults with learning disabilities, described the tribute as ‘fantastic’.

Hide AdShe said: “It was just so nice to see everybody sharing their appreciation - it made me feel really proud to be a keyworker.
“It was great to see my neighbours out clapping and joining in - I’m not sure where the fireworks came from but it was a really nice touch.”
Laura said she was ‘amazed’ by the number of videos posted on social media showing others clapping their support.
She said: “I’ve got a lot of family members who are keyworkers and they’re so tired but they’re determined to keep going.
“We’re going to try and do this every Thursday at 8pm - it’s so important to show them that we appreciate what they’re doing.”
