Political Opinion: Reform has now secured a record-breaking £183.25m for Nottinghamshire's roads
Phase two is here - a further £58.75m for the highways, in addition to phase one money of £122.5m, making us a record-breaking council for investment into the highways in one year.
This is in addition to the £2m put into the emergency works programme in March, so the work could start early.

This makes a grand total of £183.25m spent on county highways.
We are backing up our promise to our residents, to ensure the roads are fit for purpose.
When we took over the reins at County Hall, we knew that the roads were in a woeful state.
But even we were not prepared for the sheer neglect and lack of organisation and prioritisation the roads had received.
I have lobbied for money, made efficiency savings and borrowed money.
I have initiated and organised meetings with all the local MP’s here at county, to try and convey to them what a huge problem we are now facing from the decades of neglect.
I am so passionate about this..
The problem was not going to go away, like the other political parties hoped it would, as they tried to blame Reform. This is where I will not be silenced; Reform have found the money for the roads, no one else.
The new ways of working and the right first-time approach are all our work to ensure you can drive on the roads safely.
I am sure you can see the works starting around where you are in the county.
Seeing our teams out resurfacing and filling in the potholes.
I want to highlight to you that this work is not a one off, it is not a show of works being done.
This is how I see the future, no longer will roads be left to erode and fall to the disgusting levels we are seeing now.
I have a thorough plan, which continues twelve months, through the winter and ensures the work continues.
The two Pothole Pro’s arrive shortly and when they do, they will be put to work with two tarmac teams behind them.
They can cover 250m sqm a day and I want to see them out and about working.
If they bring the works on further as I propose they will, then I will invest in more of them.
If you see the crews out, give them a pip please.
They are working hard and the schedule is a big one and they too are excited about the right first-time approach and the money and equipment that is now giving them the drive to get the job done.
Most of the crews are local people so they too want to see the roads fixed.
I am now arranging a further meeting with all the Nottinghamshire MPs to discuss further funding.
I was promised a meeting, along with my cabinet member for transport and environment Coun Bert Bingham an opportunity to sit down with the Minister for Transport and present the case for Nottinghamshire and ask them to help us dig our way out of the huge pothole other parties left us in.
I think that the other parties, instead of putting cartoons and slurs on Facebook should hang their heads in shame and leave the hard work to Reform.
Thank you everyone, take care and enjoy the weather.
