Travelling from London, the ogre was seen live on stage by nearly a million people. Your pitch forks will not be needed on this occasion.

The UK & Ireland tour of the Theatre Royal Drury Lane production of Shrek the Musical - starring Dean Chisnall as the beloved swamp-dwelling ogre Shrek, the role he previously played in the West End, Faye Brookes, Idriss Kargbo and Gerard Carey - is on its way.

The quartet will be joined by a full company of fairy-tale characters including Bronté Barbé, Nikki Bentley, Jennifer Caldwell, Candace Furbert, Steffan Harri, Will Haswell, James Lacey, Mia Lincoln, Neil Moors, Jenny O’Leary, Georgina Parkinson, Rohan Pinnock-Hamilton, Ryan Reid, Leo Roberts, Jacqui Sanchez, Oliver Tester and Kerry Winter.

You have seen it in the cinema, now see it on the stage and join Shrek and his loyal steed Donkey, as they set off on a quest to rescue the beautiful (if slightly temperamental) Princess Fiona. Add the diminutive Lord Farquaad, a gang of fairytale misfits and a biscuit with attitude, and you’ve got the must see musical comedy.

Featuring all new songs as well as cult Shrek anthem I’m a Believer, Shrek the Musical brings all the much-loved DreamWorks characters to life, live on stage, in an all-singing, all-dancing extravaganza.

Directed by Nigel Harman who starred as Lord Farquaad in the west end production, Shrek the Musical is heading to the Nottingham Theatre Royal on Sunday 28th September.

Tickets for this event are priced at £45 with concessions priced at just £19. For more information visit www.shrekthemusical.co.uk

Starting on Broadway in 2008, Skreh the Musical has been a huge hit across nearly 150 cities in the USA and Canada alone, whilst the production has been played in Spain, Poland, France, Malaysia, China, Brazil, Italy, Denmark, Estonia, Israel and Turkey. All ending in great success.
