The pupils had been invited as guests of the clubs main sponsor Standard Chartered Bank and enjoyed the club’s full hospitality as well as receiving a gift bag.

Notts County Councillor Shelia Place paid for the coach to get everyone to the game and joined the group to experience the trip.

“This is the third time I have been able to take school pupils from Bassetlaw to Anfield thanks to kindness and generosity of Standard Chartered and its chairman Sir John Peace,” said Mr Mann.

“I was delighted to take the pupils from Langold Dyscarr to enjoy the game.”

“I’m determined to ensure that more children from Bassetlaw get access to top-light sporting events as, given the rising costs of attending such games, many people simply cannot afford to go.”
