There will be 50 beers from all parts of the land, of varying styles, strengths and flavours on sale, together with 10 ciders and perries.
There will also be three varieties of wine and free soft drinks on offer.
The beers are racked in the atmospheric setting of the Great Hall, with 18 being served on handpump and the rest on gravity dispense.
“Our award-winning local brewery, Grafters of Willingham-by-Stow, have a bar serving eight of their beers including one brewed specially for the festival,” said John Platt, secretary of Gainsborough CAMRA.
“Other beers have been sourced from Viking battleground areas throughout the UK to celebrate the 1,000-year anniversary of Gainsborough being for a short while the capital of England, and we have also ensured that a number of festival favourites from past years are returning.”
As well as beer, hot and cold food is being provided by the venue and there is entertainment by way of a quiz with beer prizes on Thursday night, a live acoustic band on Friday evening and local musicians on Saturday.
“The music takes place in the marvellous setting of the medieval kitchen complete with the roaring fire,” said John. “And we will even provide table service during the quiz.”
The festival is open from 7pm to 10.30pm on Thursday 19th October, and from 12 noon to 10.30pm on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st and admission is free. Licensing conditions mean only people aged 18 and over can be admitted.
