Force to tackle bad driving in operation

Many first time driving offenders in Notts will be directed towards an education course rather than face prosecution over the next two months.

Officers are stepping up enforcement activities, but rather than punish some offenders the force is offering four courses as an alternative.

Chief inspector Andy Charlton, head of Notts’ road casualty reduction unit, said: “This operation is going to catch a lot of drivers committing various offences all over the county. We would encourage everyone eligible to take up the offer of a course. You will be a better driver after completing the course and that makes our roads safer.”
