The group of motorcyclists, who go by the name Team Roberts Riders’ Association of Triumph Motorbikes – or RAT Pack for short – raised £883 for St John’s Hospice at Balby in Doncaster.

The group raised the cash by holding raffles at meetings, on ride-outs, by holding open days and selling cakes and plants.

The members of the group come from a wide area including Sheffield, Nottingham, Bolsover, and Derbyshire and decided to raise cash for the hospice appeal as one of their members, Joanne Reeve, used to work at St Johns.

Chris Smith, hospice appeal community fund-raiser, said: “This is an amazing amount of money raised for our appeal.

I want to thank each and every one of the bikers involved, and their families, for working so hard.

“Every penny will go towards making our patients’ lives more comfortable.”

The hospice is run by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH).
