Every year nominations are made by councillors, schools, members of the public and awards are given to residents of all ages

Many are given to those who have overcome a personal difficulty or adversity and go on to lead a normal life and help others.

Council chairman Coun Sybil Fielding said: “Our annual Achievers Awards are a chance for the council to recognise the outstanding achievements of individuals and groups throughout the district.”

“Our winners are made up of people who have dedicated years to community service, have raised vital funds for charities, displayed unwavering acts of bravery and worked hard to make their communities better place to live.”

The awards will be handed out to winners at a special event on Tuesday in the Assembly Room at Worksop Town Hall at 7.30pm.
