Aston firefighters wash cars

ASTON firefighters swapped their hoses for sponges to help raise money for charity.

They were taking part in the National Car Wash, a huge fundraising initiative organised by the Fire Fighters charity.

Throughout March fire stations across the country will be washing the nation’s car, in exchange for a donation.

Last year the events in March and September raised more than £290,000, which went directly towards helping enhance the quality of life for serving and retired fire fighters, fire personnel and their families.

The firefighters also dispensed vital community safety information to motorists who had their cars washed.
