Bassetlaw triathletes head to capital for London T100 series
Two members of the Bassetlaw Triathlon Club took a trip to the capital to take on two different events in the weekend.

The London T100 triathlon series has grown into an exciting event taking place over a full weekend.
Kirsty Turner from the club came home with a time of 6 hours and 18 minutes.
“T100 is a 2km swim, 84km bike and an 18km run. Due to the high temperatures London experienced in the weeks leading up to the race there was worry that it may be a non wetsuit swim however come race morning it was confirmed the temperature was 22.8 degrees and wetsuits could be worn,” she said.
“The race started at 7am in the river Thames with over 1500 athletes completing the 2 lap swim before then completing 3 undulating laps through tunnels to Westminster and back and then 4 laps on surround roads to the excel before entering the excel again for the finish line.
“I completed the T100 event in 6:18:56, my first event back in five years since completing an Ironman and 12 months since giving birth to my daughter Lylah. I used the event as a target to do something for me and be the best mum and influencer to my daughter.”
Also in town was Tom Richardson, who tackled the Standard Olympic distance, which included a 1.5km swim then 40 km bike route and finished with a 10km run.
Tom said: “I really enjoyed the event, in particular the cycle and forgot I was in an event. It was so fun and fast in and out of the tunnels on smooth tarmac, more like being in a video game at times than actually cycling.
“The crowds and support on the run were sublime. Even the swim in the Thames (Royal Dock) was rather pleasant.”
