American singer-songwriter Charlie Parr has a live date in Sheffield next month as part of a new UK tour.
He releases his first full band album next month too, and will be at The Greystones in Sheffield on August 13.
Long a part of the vibrant music scene in Duluth, Minnesota, his songs exude a mid-western sensibility and humility, drawn from the alternately fertile and frozen soil of his home state.
It is the music of a self-taught guitarist and banjo player who grew up listening to Charley Patton and Lightnin’ Hopkins, Woody Guthrie and Leadbelly.
Tickets for his Sheffield gig are on www.mygreystones.co.uk
