Gainsborough Folk Club has two special dates coming up next month as it gets its autumn season underway.
On Friday, 3rd October, Pete Morton will be the club’s guest artist.
Pete last visited Gainsborough back in November 2011, when he performed his one man show The Miller’s Tale as part of the Inspire Lincolnshire Community Arts engagement programme.
This was a mad medieval musical monologue of poetry, comedy, song and the occasional dance, all done with the help of some Dylan songs – as well as a few other classics in the Morton way.
Starting out as a busker on the streets of Europe, Pete Morton he has entertained all over the globe with his unique and involving style of song-writing and passionate vocal delivery.
He sings from the heart, with songs that tell compelling stories and speak of the human condition from a very unique perspective.
The folk tradition plays a big part in Pete’s style and he is a versatile performer.
His Gainsborough show will be just be him performing his own songs with just his guitar.
The club meets at the Melrose Club (on Melrose Road) and the evening begins at 8.30pm. Tickets are just £7 for non-members and are in quite short supply. If you wish to reserve tickets, please call 01427 838726.
