Paul Heaton &Jacqui Abbott and Elbow frontman Guy Garvey will be playing live in Sherwood Forest next summer as part of Forest Live.
Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott will be in the forest on June 24 with Guy Garvey appearing the next day on June 25.
Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott’s latest top-10 album, Wisdom, Laughter and Lines includes the singles I Don’t See Them and The Austerity of Love which was Record of the Week on BBC Radio 2.
This followed their critically-acclaimed, certified gold debut in 2014, What Have We Become, their first recording reunion since the multi-million selling days of The Beautiful South.
The Forest Live gigs will see them play material from their new album and songs from The Beautiful South and the Housemartins.
Meanwhile, after nearly 25 years as frontman of influential rock band Elbow, Guy Garvey this year released his debut solo album, Courting the Squall, which included the singe Angela’s Eyes.
The song writing reflects Guy’s past work at times, the big themes of love and friendship and the lure of his Northern homeland.
The critically acclaimed album perfectly illustrates Guy Garvey’s standing as one of the UK’s most recognised and celebrated musicians and lyricists.
“I have played Forest Live once before with Elbow so I am really delighted to be performing again in these beautiful locations,” he commented.
“It should be a magical experience on a summer’s evening in a forest.”
Forest Live is an independent programme organised by the Forestry Commission to bring forests to new audiences.
Income generated from ticket sales is spent on protecting, improving and expanding England’s forests and woodlands and increasing their value to people and wildlife.
