Route 66, the hot jumping, riff flying, harmonica wailing RnB band play at Boot and Shoe, Whitwell, for the first time this Saturday, March 14.

Route 66, the hot jumping, riff flying, harmonica wailing RnB band play at Boot and Shoe, Whitwell, for the first time this Saturday, March 14.

The band have been on the road now for 25 years and in that time have played around 1000 gigs from big festivals to small pubs.

Route 66, who hail from Buxton, are regulars at major blues festivals in the UK including Colne and Burnley and are due to appear at The Headlander festival in Manchester in June.

The have gigged relentlessly around Chesterfield and Sheffield for the past 15 years. Singer Ian Fawkes said: “This area has always been a favourite of ours, good music- loving people who like a good time too.”

Admission to the band’s Whitwell gig is free and the music starts at 8.45pm.
