Organ star Keith Hearnshaw is performing live at The Crossing in Worksop this month.
An organ scholar at both Lincoln and Liverpool cathedrals, and widely-respected as an ‘ambassador of the organ’ Keith makes a point of performing in an ‘unstuffy musical and verbal style’.
Whenever he performs, his aim is to make the organ very accessible, a refreshing approach that attracts young people to what Mozart described as ‘the king of instruments’.
Keith has played on Radio 2’s The Organist Entertains, he features in family organ days and he recorded the soundtrack for a BBC Award-winning DVD designed to inspire youngsters to take up the organ.
His Worksop programme will feature a wide variety of organ classics, from a well-known Hitchcock theme to the Briggs’ arrangement of the Finale from Saint-Saens’ Organ Symphony.
The concert is on Saturday, April 21 at 7.30pm.
Tickets are £8 (£4 under-16s) from The Crossing, on 01909 475421 or at firstname.lastname@example.org
