The Doncaster Youth Jazz Orchestra (DYJO) are coming to The Crossing in Worksop this month
DYJO is an important part of the hugely-respected Doncaster Youth Jazz Association which has opened up musical careers in jazz and associated fields for many young people.
Founded in 1973 and the brainchild of director John Ellis MBE, the association’s groups are award-winning and are much in demand.
In addition to live performances at some prestigious venues, their various recordings take place as top locations such as London’s Abbey Road Studios.
At The Crossing, the band will play Music of the Masters – including Buddy Rich, Duke Ellington and Count Basie – as well as original jazz transcriptions.
Their Worksop concert is on Saturday, May 14 at 7.30pm (doors open 6.45pm).
Tickets priced £10 (£5 under-16) are available from The Crossing’s Welcome Desk, on 01909 475421, or at email@example.com
