Get walking for Bassetlaw hospice

PUT your best foot forward and sign up for a sponsored walk through beautiful Idle Valley Nature Reserve in Retford in aid of Bassetlaw Hospice.

On Sunday 23rd October keen walkers will step out on walks of either 20 or 25 miles, while families and more casual strollers can take in the scenery on five or 10 mile routes.

This is a great chance to support the charity by raising awareness and funds by sponsorship, while promoting walking as healthy exercise for everyone.

The Vermuyden Group of the Long Distance Walkers Association and Notts Wildlife Trust are working with the hospice to ensure this is event is a real success.

It is hoped the event will really make a difference so local people with life limiting diseases and their carers can continue to receive the support and palliative care they need.

The walk starts at Idle Valley Rural Learning Centre and takes in the attractive and varied scenery of north Notts.

This includes scenic lengths of the Chesterfield Canal, rolling hills and strawberry fields around North Wheatley and the extensive wildlife habitats of the nature reserve.

The event is perfect for families and children of all ages.
