The best chance of any sunshine will be in western parts, though it will be cold by night.

The dry but dull weather will give way to rain on Wednesday, with the region perhaps seeing some heavy showers in the early morning.

From Thursday onwards, however, the outlook is looking more settled with fine dry weather and sunny spells forecast for next weekend.
