Worksop: Big turnout for Easter hockey camp at the college

An unprecedented number of budding young hockey players turned out for the Easter hockey camp at Worksop College with 110 keen participants eager to improve their skills and techniques.

The Easter Camp was held as a result of the huge success of a similar event held at Christmas.”

The camps were open to girls and boys between the ages of seven and 16 years-old and key techniques included tactical awareness, setting up and scoring goals and competition skills.

Director of hockey at the college, Trevor Franse, said: “It was an outstanding turnout with lots of young promising hockey players looking to further their skills.”

“We had some top coaches working with the young pupils and everyone had a fantastic day.”

“The great weather was an extra bonus and we look forward to future events being held in the school summer holidays.”
