Winning draw for Central Avenue men

Worksop Cricket Club sit in midtable in the Championship, after Saturday’s winning draw at home to Caythorpe II.

Luke Ambrose led the way with an unbeaten knock of 88 in Worksop’s 180 for 6 – Tim Smith Junior adding 37.

Caythorpe were only able to reach 136 for 9 in reply, as Dave Hancocks starred with the ball, taking 3 for 31 for Worksop.

In a Championship derby clash, Anston got the best of Kiveton Park by six wickets.

As ever, Amila Perera was in the thick of the action for Anston, taking 5 for 33 as Kiveton Park were dismissed for 153.

In reply, Anston made 157 for the loss of just four wickets.

Whitwell lost their Division One game against Welbeck II by eight wickets.

Rollo Sharma carried his bat for 66 and James Spitzer made 33 for Welbeck as they made 143 for 2 in response to Whitwell’s 143 for 2.

Both Anston II and Kiveton Park II were left pointless in their Division Two games against Glapwell II and Ordsall Bridon II.

Bawtry were undone by some bowling magic against Sherwood, as Liam Green took 5 for 1, including four wickets in four consecutive balls – Sherwood taking a narrow five run victory.

Woodsetts had a winning draw at home to Roses in Division Three.

A division below, Clumber Park II beat Anston III by four wickets, Andy Smith taking 5 for 10.

And Tim Smith Senior took 5 for 11, butWorksop II still lost out to Blidworth II.
