Wheelers in club run split

Retford and District Wheelers formed two groups of riders for Sunday’s club run.

The groups left the market square for Whisby Nature Reserve, the fast group taking a circular route while the social group took a more direct approach.

There were big changes in the Strava League with last week’s leader Andy Coop-Mann slipping down the table due to mechanical problems.

Going top was Tony Siveter who recorded 250.8 km, Paul Austin covered 174.0 km closely followed by Roger Pennington with 165.8 km.

The club ride this Sunday will be to Bank End at Blaxton, a distance of between 40 and 50 miles. Meet in Retford market square at 9.30am.

This ride will be ideal for new riders and those wishing to ride on a fixed gear bike.

The terrain will be mainly flat and there will be a cafe stop at about half distance.
