Wheelers at Thorne Lakes

THORNE Lakes was the destination for Retford and District Wheelers last Sunday.

Leaving Retford in good cycling conditions 10 riders made their way through Bawtry and Finningley before taking to the lanes through Wroot and Sandtoft and on to the destination cafe stop.

The return journey was by way of Idle Bank, Haxey and Gringley.

New signing, Paul Bexton from Hallcroft, acquitted himself admirably considering it was only his third outing with the club.

This Sunday the club will be holding it’s annual hill climb on Gringley Hill.

Riders, timekeepers, marshals and spectators are required to be in place for a 10am start.

Meet in Retford market square at 9am.

After the hill climb there will be the usual downhill freewheeling competition.

Guest riders for the hill climb are welcome.
