Victory for Lea Park at home to Retford

Bassetlaw Division Three

Lea Park 142 for 2

Retford II 141 for 9

A lacklustre bowling and fielding performance from Lea allowed Retford to hit 141 for 9 in the first innings of this game, Mark Waterfield unbeaten on 48 for the visitors.

Waterfield punished some wayward bowling towards the end of the innings when Lea Park missed a trick by not capitalising on a chance to claim maximum bowling points.

Lea did however set about their target with a point to prove as Lee Mardle and Chris Needham laid a match winning foundation of 117 when Mardle fell for 40.

Both batsmen were punishing the bad balls and running well between the wickets and despite losing a second wicket in the process, proceeded to a comfortable win with Needham ending unbeaten on 83.
