Try your hand at clay shooting

After taking up clay shooting at the age of 11, Lee went on to represent both England and Great Britain in junior sections and went on to compete in World and European Championships.

He achieved a silver medal at the Youth Olympics in Australia in 2007 and was the winner of the Cyprus Grand Prix and the British Grand Prix the following year.

Though retired from competitive shooting, Lee has channelled his passion for the sport through coaching and is a qualified shotgun trainer.

“It’s a sport for a wide age range and any gender,” he said. “It’s fun, addictive and something different you can do independently, or with family and friends.”

“It has so much to offer as a sport and hobby, from representing your country in the Olympics to just being a pastime you can do in your own leisure all year round.”

Lee offers one to one coaching sessions and corporate entertainment at Hayton Castle Farm, near Retford.

The farm is holding two open days on Saturday 21st and 28th April for all those with an eye for the sport.

PUPILS across the district have been welcoming the Bassetlaw Torch to their school, as they take part in activities promoting local sports.

Martial arts instructor Master Andrew Blinston, chief instructor of Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy, assisted with several events throughout Bassetlaw schools.

Master Blinston has taught the children a variety of basic martial arts disciplines and leadership skills.
