Third time lucky as Boys earn fine win

AFTER back-to-back draws Gainsborough Boys’ third fixture of the season saw them turn on the style against Scarborough Boys on the Northolme to earn a fine 5-1 victory.

The game started with both teams enjoying good spells of possession but Gainsborough broke the deadlock on 10 minutes when a Brad Ronis pass saw Elliott Vaselo score. Scarborough quickly responded to equalise, but a great individual run by Daniel Rawlings enabled Luke Crossley to put Gainsborough 2-1 up and that was the half-time score.

The second half saw a great performance from the local boys with a flurry of goals coming from Bradley Hill, Bradley Hardy and Archie Clayton.

Gainsborough Boys squad: Louis Hubner, Bradley Bull (Morton); Bradley Hill, Bradley Ronis, Scott Hutchinson, Adam Orton (Frances OLive Anderson); Bradley Hardy, Daniel Rawlings, Jay Taylor (Charles Baines); Archie Clayton (Corringham); Tom Smith (Saxilby); Elliott Vaselo, Evan Butcher, Luke Crossley (Parish).
