Next home was Jerry McCulla in his debut performance at this distance, but the sub-three hour London Marathon finisher used all his experience to cross the line in a very good time of 2.24.05.

Club veteran Paschal Moran ran a solid 2.51.38 with one of his training partners, Emma Humphries recording 3.01.37.

Rebecca Cross entered her first long distance event for many years and finished in a promising 3.35.28.

The Club’s latest Couch to 5K programme, designed to encourage runners to take up the sport from either complete beginners to run a 5k event within eight weeks, has just started its next session.

Aone who is interested in joining can attend any of the sessions currently being held at the High School on Morton Terrace at 6:30pm every Tuesday evening.
