Stalwart riders brave the gales

Only half a dozen stalwarts from the Retford and District Wheelers braved the gale force winds for last weekend’s club ride to Wroot.

With a total distance of about 50 miles to cover, over some of the most open roads around the Isle of Axholme, the westerly winds created some very hard and difficult riding conditions for such a small group.

After a welcome break for refreshment the ride continued through Misson and Bawtry and onwards to Retford in time for an early lunch.

The club run this Sunday will be to Bilsthorpe, the distance will be about 50 miles and the route will be undulating.

Meet in Retford market square at 9am.
