Speed judging contest for Retford cyclists

Retford and District Wheelers will host an average speed judging contest this Sunday.

Riders will be required to cover a set course as near as possible to a randomly selected average speed, without the aid of a cycling computer, GPS or any other device.

Participants should sign on at the Broomwagon Café in Retford from 9.00am to 9.30am, and the first rider will start at 9.45am, with the rest setting off at one minute intervals afterwards.

Entry will be £2 and the winner will receive a cash prize and a trophy.

Course length will be approximately 15 miles and the maximum average speed will be 18mph.

The winning rider will be the one closest to their selected average speed.

This event is open to any cyclist wishing to test their abilities in this novel event from the Wheelers’ winter program of activities.
