Runners earn times

CLOWNE Road Runners have got their hard-earned Christmas presents in the form of some excellent times.

Lewis Banton came 17th in the 15-mile Roaches Fell Race on 13th November in a time of 02:24:26.

On 20th November the club celebrated its Winter Handicap.

Divided into teams and then groups of similar ability, the slower or less experienced members started the course before the Andy Wards and Bantons, so that the whole club finished the course at around the same time, together.

Mark Waller, Hilary Smith, Graham Sheen, Dave Keeling and Gillian Carter all beat their original handicapped time, and at the end of the event, Waller was declared the overall handicap winner.

Gareth Lowe, Andrew Padley, Chris Lane, Mark Waller and Paul Summerly all completed the tricky Edwinstowe 10K on 4th December.

Results: Gareth Lowe 35:47 (winner), Andrew Padley 38:18 (4th), Chris Lane 45:57 (63rd) , Mark Waller 51:17 (168th), Paul Summerly 51:37 (171st).
