OPINION: Future is bright for Worksop Town

I'm writing this article in what is finally a period of somewhat calm at Worksop Town, they say things come in threes and they certainly did for us, Tigers' Director of Communications and Brand Jake Brown writes. From the confirmation of ownership to Ryan Hindley's resignation to the appointment of Duncan Milligan, we can finally now look to the future with a great deal of optimism.

As our previous statement outlined at the time, we are thankful to Craig Spink for all his hard work and would like to wish him all the best in his coaching role with Frickley Athletic.

The home game last Saturday finally brought a smile to our faces and it was great to see a crowd of 360 despite the poor weather, we have recently had to pay for whole load of sand to be covered over most areas of the pitch in order to fill in gaps and help with the standing water we were beginning to see a lot of.

We are looking forward now to seeing a plan and vision being formulated on the pitch to bring optimism for next season, myself and Dave Crisp have started to look at our pre-season schedule and plan a summer we can all look forward to.

We have just the two tables left for the Paul Merson night on Good Friday and we hope to get those filled in the next few weeks, I’m sure the success of the evening will lead on to many more nights like this at our clubhouse with the World Cup also not far away.

As I briefly outlined at the Fans Forum last month the kit is also close to being finalised for next season. We should be entering in to a partnership with Nike which guarantees us the stripes for at least three years, with this partnership we will be aiming to get all our Junior section in the same kit.

If and when I ever leave my role at this club, I’ll be proud to know I was the one (with other people’s discretion) that really pushed for and succeeded in bringing the stripes back at long last!
