Richard is first Clowne runner back in Rotherham

Clowne Road Runners delivered some promising performances at the annual Round Rotherham Run - a 50-mile circular route starting and finishing at Dearne Valley College.

Three of the club’s members took on the full 50 with Richard Hind first home finishing 37th in a time of 9:18:15 followed by Daniel Keeling in 10:58:04 PB (83rd) and Helen Worsfold in 11:31:31 PB (94th).

The club also fielded three relay teams where the 50-mile route is split into eight legs.

The Red Rockets Men’s team of Dan Page, Paul Sadler, Gareth Lowe, Lewis Banton, Chris Lane, Peter Twigg, Jordan Street and Graham Worsfold, finished second overall in an impressive time of 5:28:06.

Red Roses team of Steve Battle, Katy Taylor, Louise Lowe, Michelle Needham, John Proffitt, Julie King, David Hazelton and Greg Goddard, finished 12th overall and third in category with a time of 6:58:51. A Red Devils team of Dave Leese, Steve Hattersley, Lynn Hazelton, Sam Coleclough, Heather Brennan, Julie Keeling, Ian Brookes and Karen Shipman finished 17th overall and fifth in category with a time of 7:33:08.

Elsewhere, Jordan Street continued his efforts in the Gritstone Series taking on the Windgather Fell Race where he finished in third place with a time of 1 hour 47 minutes.

Mark Baldwin took to the streets of Manchester for the Half Marathon completing in a time of 1:42:52.
