Retford teen Jake has the Rally-X factor

A Retford teenager has made the shortlist of a competition to find the next big rallycross talent.

Jake Taylor is one of 12 finalists for the World Rallycross talent search, and will now take part in a ‘drive off’ at the WRX second round at Lydden Hill this month.

The final prize will see the lucky winner earn a drive at the WRX round in Turkey later this year.

The 18-year-old is over the moon to have got so far, in a competition that attracted 122 young drivers aged 18 to 30 from all disciplines of motorsport, from circuit racing to rallying.

He said: “What a fantastic opportunity, I can’t believe it.”

“I’m really overwhelmed to be included among top British motorsport names and talent.”

“I’m so looking forward to getting behind the wheel of an RX lite, it’s been a dream of mine.”
