Harris completed the five mile course in a time of 33.01, a great performance in the wet and muddy conditions.

Joining Harris in the first 10 to finish were Peter Tallents, who finished fourth in a time of 34.06, and Peter Barr who finished ninth in a time of 35.09.

Nicky Spinks was the first Retford lady back, finishing fourh lady in 40.49, followed closely by Jess Dewsbury who finished 10th lady in 44.52.

Retford had a fantastic turn out with 16 men and 12 ladies competing in a field of just over 200, with a number of the Retford runners competing in the series for the first time.

The annual series also includes races at Worksop, Retford, Clowne and Handsworth.

This year the nominated charity for the event is Odyssey who are a small cancer charity helping people to rebuild their lives following treatment for cancer.

Special thanks to Charmian Heaton who organised the Retford team and had a great run herself.

Next up is Worksop on 19th January.
