RACELINE: TIP OF THE DAY Tuesday, 5th February

LIBERTY COURT

Market Rasen 2.00 EACH/WAY

I’m under no illusions that this a good, competitive novices’ hurdle. But equally, I remain convinced there is better to come from Tim Vaughan’s six-year-old Irish point winner than results suggest we have seen so far. After showing promise on his UK debut in a Newcastle Bumper in November, he ran a blinder to give a fright to Nicky Henderson’s useful handicapper, Ericht, on his hurdling bow at Fakenham. Fancied to get off the mark last time at Musselburgh, he got involved, unncessarily, in a duel with the favourite in front and then lost all momentum when landing on his nose at the third last, almost coming down. The son of Court Cave faces two or three smart rivals today but he deserves a change of luck.

YESTERDAY: ZUIDER ZEE 2ND (3/1)
