Prize presentation night for cyclists

Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club’s annual prize presentation evening held at The Weston Rooms attracted over 50 cyclists and friends from Gainsborough, Lincoln, and Scunthorpe areas.

The Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club would like to thank Julian and his staff for an excellent dinner and service.

The guests of honour were Bill and Penny Howe from Everton, the globetrotting pensioners who started a ride of a lifetime in 1986 when they stared an epic journey cycling round the world and covering 26,754 road miles.

Prizewinners for the 2012 cycling season were: Andy Clark, Joe Nash, Paul Reyolds, Philip Jubbs, Sophie Hindmarsh (10), Michael Dawson, Loll Dickenson, Peter Hanks, Colin Smith, Daniel Nicholson, Trevor Halstead. Mike Seddon, Liam Hindmarsh (13), Jordan Skelly, Joe Smith, Matthew Hindmarsh, Steve Brown, Mark Clark, Belle Hindmarsh (six), Julian Hesp, Gawaine Clarke, Richard Hunt.

A cold morning did not stop six Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club riders taking part in the Two Bridges Reliability Rides, while four club riders travelled to South Yorkshire to take part in the Tom Simpson Memorial ride run by Dinnington Cycling Club.

On Sunday 3rd March there are reliability rides of 20 miles, 50K, 50 miles, 75 miles or 100 miles. Start is at 8am or 9am from 21 Portland Terrace, Gainsborough, while on Wednesday 6th March the club is holding an informal meet-up at the Eight Jolly Brewers pub from 7.30pm onwards.
