CLUB RESULTS

THE final Worksop & DAA Sandhill lake open match of the summer was fished last Thursday and won by Mark Pressley.

Results: 1st Mark Pressley 11lbs 02oz (peg 57); 2nd Steve Armitstead 8lbs 10oz (peg 61); 3rd Mick Pogson 7lbs 14oz (peg 55).

It is hoped that open matches will resume around April 2013.

The Executive Committee would also like to thank bailiffs Gary Barlow and Roger Green for their efforts with improving the pegs at this site.

The members of Batchelors AC. made the journey to Lodge Farm where they elected to fish the signal pond on 23rd September: 1st Chris Eves peg 14 118lb 7oz carp/pole/corn; 2nd John Eves peg 23 76lb 4oz carp/pole/worm; 3rd Derek Brownhill peg 2 62lb 11oz carp/pole/pellet; 3rd Andy Jardine peg 18 58lb 12oz carp caster/pole.

Mick Simpson of the Grafton AA tells us that the club’s latest match was held at Fishlake at Grange farm: 1st Simon Short 160lb 12oz pole and pellet shallow; 2nd Brian Poole 127lb 1oz paste; 3rd Ian Topham 100lb pole fished pellet on the deck.

Regular visitors to Lakeside Harworth Comrades AC held their latest event last Tuesday on the match lake: 1st Les Richmond 41lb2oz peg 30 pole and pellet for an all silver fish net, 2nd Bob Mcgowan 39lb 4oz peg 28; 3rd Roy Butler 28lb 15oz peg 38.

COMMERCIAL ROUND-UP

STARTING at Lakeside Fishery, Wednesday’s open was won by Lol Lax who pole fished red maggot for a mixed net of 81lb 12oz from peg 4.

The best match weight of the week fell to Mark Holmes in Saturday’s White Lion AC club match, with a bag of 88lb 7oz tempted on the method feeder off peg 29a.

On the carp lake friends Adam Kirk and Josh Crow landed 11 specimens between them topped by a ghostie of 27lb 5oz from peg 2 using popped up boilies.

On the trout lake Pete Wright cast his black buzzer on a floating line to tempt 14 fish to 6lb with Worksop rod Ian Wilkinson employing the same tactics to slip his net under 17 fish to 8lb.

At Riverside, in Tuesday’s contest: 1st Mark Cardell 41lb 11oz peg 43 method and meat; 2nd Alan Harris 33lb 2oz.

Wednesday’s open: 1st John English 59lb 8oz peg 30 pole and pellet; 2nd Mark Cardell 58lb7oz peg 43 method and meat.

Thursday’s competition: Brian Crowder 37lb 13oz peg 30 pole and pellet; 2nd Pete Ware 36lb 8oz peg 23 pole fished pellet.

Saturday’s match: 1st Terry Pixley 56lb 12oz peg 10 method and worm; 2nd Andy Hunt 48lb 2oz peg 27 pole and maggot.

Down the road at Lodge Farm, Wednesday’s over 50s match was on the lily pond: 1st Steve Nemus 130lb 12oz peg 71 the bubble method; 2nd Len Squires 113lb 9oz peg 69.

Thursday’s contest on the field pond: 1st Wayne Ibbotson 114lb 2oz peg 17 pole fished corn ; 2nd Craig Crosbie 111lb 15oz peg 6 pole and pellet.

WE finish this week’s column by giving you a final reminder of the John Hunt Memorial Match.

It will be fished on Saturday 6th October at Riverside Fishery near Bawtry.Many of you will remember John as the former proprietor of the aforementioned complex and the support he gave to junior angling in the area, as well as being a thoroughly decent guy.

The entry fee is a very reasonable £11 with the pegging fee donated to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, with the draw taking place at 8.45am.
