There were defeats for Welbeck and Cuckney in the only two Mansfield and District League Premier Section games last weekend.
In Section One, however, Kirkby Portland picked up a much needed victory.
Glapwell (20) 153-5 came out on top of their Premier clash with Welbeck (2) 116 by 37 runs, Matthew Page (39 and 2-26) alongside Chris Webber 38 and 3-24 both getting runs and wickets for Glapwell.
The only other match in this section saw Aston Hall (20) 245-4 beat Cuckney (2) 128 by 117 runs, Aston Halls overseas player Nicholas Smit scoring 88.
In Section One Frechville Community (14) 247-3 entertained Ashover (11) 247 in a tight finish, ending in a tied match.
Top score of the day ame from Ashover’s J. Flint who hit 93.
Kirkby Portland (20) 172 lifted themselves clear of the bottom with a 24-run victory over MAREHAY (6) 148.
In Sction Two a pair of local teams met at Blackwell (4) 80, were Morton (20) 100 won by 20 runs.
Best bowling for Morton was from D. Greaves (4-16).
Underwood (20) 147-9 beat Whiston PCCC (6) 146 by one wicket, Ed Charlton 5-13 for Underwood doing the damage.
In Section Three, in a low scoring match Welbeck (20) 134-7 managed a win over Kirkby Portland (3) 100 by 34 runs.
T. Davis (4-36) and T. Marriott (4-18) shared eight wickets for Welbeck.
Papplewick and Linby (2) 139 lost to Norton Oakes (20) 144-4 with James Thompson (55 and 4-28) having a good day for Norton Oakes.
Holmewood (17) 276-7 enjoyed a high score, but failed to gain more than a winning draw against Mansfield (9) 190-8.
Highlight of the day for Holmewood Matt Ryalls (101*).
In Section Four Belper Meadows (3) 112-9 lost to Hollinsend (20) 113-8 by two wickets, Lewis Commander unbeaten on 53 for Hollinsend.
herwood (16) 180-7 had their best day of the season so far with a winning draw against Wirksworth & Middleton (6) 136-6.
In Section Five the only rained off match this week was the top of the table clash, between Shirebrook and Wednesday.
Dronfield Woodhouse (20) 180 entertained Selston(7) 165, Dronfield winning by 15 runs with top batsman Joe Storer making 82.
Chesterfield (20) 120-4 returned to winning ways with a six-wicket win over Pheasant Hill (1) 119, J. Fox taking 5-24 for Chesterfield.
In Section Six Kiveton Park (1) 38 elected to but found the bowling of C. Kerry (6-11) too hot to handle as Swanwick (20) 39-4 raced to a six wicket win.
Teversal (20) 183-8 lifted themselves clear of the bottom with a 22-run win over Belper Meadows (6) 161, the Hewitts once again doing the damage, Chris scoring 58, Sean 36 and Carl taking 5-27.
And in Section Seven Sheffield Transport (20) 163-8 recorded their first maximum points of the season beating Eckington (6) 160-8.
