Wells was born on with Amniotic Band Syndrome, an unusual condition that affected her hands and ankles.

She lost many fingers, along with movement and feeling in her feet, and suffered nerve damage in her lower legs.

Despite that, she has risen to the top of Paralympic sport and competed at able bodied level.

Tony Wright from Bassetlaw Council’s sports development team said: “I am really looking forward to meeting Sophie and hearing what she thinks have been the real influencing factors in her becoming a Paralympic and World Champion.”
