Ordsall Bridon 134 all out
Welbeck Colliery 205 for 9
Orsdall Bridon remain without a victory in the Notts Premier League, and sit seventh in the table.
The men from Edgbaston Drive have lost four of their seven outings, with the remaining three abandoned due to the weather.
With all the recent rain, there were a few slow sticky pitches to be negotiated in the seventh round of NCB Premier League fixtures, on a day to win the toss and bowl.
Saturday’s match at Ordsall proved to be the exception to the rule.
Home skipper Paul van den Heuvel did elect to bowl in winning the toss, but it didn’t prove to be as effective as elsewhere in the league’s latest round of fixtures.
They had Welbeck Colliery 6 for 2 early, but Matthew Higgins (44) teamed up with Richard Stroh to add 101 for the third wicket.
Stroh would go on to make 115, but couldn’t find anyone else to stick around with him.
Welbeck ended on 205 for nine from their 50 overs, Aqab Ahmed taking 6for 59 for the hosts.
Ordsall Bridon were never in the hunt, losing nine wickets for 33 as they slumped to 62 for 9.
Only Matthew Makings (51) in a 10th wicket stand of 72 got them to the respectability of 134 all out.
Welbeck bowler Robert French finished up with 4 for 24 and Richard Stroh completing an all-round day with 3 for 15.
Bridon’s four points extended their cushion over the bottom two, just slightly.
