Ordsall Bridon have a home horror show

Ordsall Bridon had a day to forget in the Notts ECB Premier League as they were thrashed by 10 wickets at home by Caythorpe.

Batting first, Ordsall had no answer to Caythorpe bowlers Sam Trotman (4-26) and Ben Powell (3-27) as they were fired out for just 118 in 29 overs with only four men reaching double figures.

By contrast, Caythorpe openers James Hawley (68no) and Martin Dobson (41no) had no such problems as they saw their side home with an unbroken opening stand of 122 in 18 overs.

In the Bassetlaw League, half-centuries from Mark Bull and Chandra Kumara helped Retford maintain their promotion interest with a four-wicket win over Edwinstowe.

Bull hit 59 and Kumara finished on 58 not out as Retford reached their target of 161-6 in reply to Edwinstowe’s 160-8, in which Paul Benson (64) and Justin Pretorius (43) both batted well.
