Ordsall Bridon breathe life into survival bid

Ordsall Bridon have made life at the bottom of the Notts Premier Cricket League more interesting, with a 20-point vuictory at Welbeck.

Bridon now sit just a point behind second-bottom Mansfield Hosiery Mills, and 13 points adrift of the side they beat on Saturday.

Welbeck racked up 246 for 8, after being 134 for 7 at one point.

Skipper Rob French (83*) and Jake Ball (32) did much of the recovery work with two wickets each for Aqab Ahmed, Tim Miles and Sufian Munir.

Ordsall Bridon chased down their target from 48 overs for the loss of five wickets with Munir rounding off a fine game with 107, and 51 for Miles.

This weekend Ordsall Bridon can claw their way off bottom place, when they host Mansfield Hosiery Mills.

In Bassetlaw Division One, Retford took seven points from their draw at home to Clumber Park.

John Cooke took 3 for 51 as Clumber were restricted to 173 for 8.

But in reply Retford could only make 152 for 9, Mark Bull top scoring with 41.

On Saturday they travel to Welbeck II.
