Sun, sea and sand for motocross riders

WINTER may be setting in, but a trio of local motocross mad youngsters sampled the sun, sea and sand two weeks ago, in a weekend of races.

Kurtis Williams, Daniel Fisher and Luke Fisher were all in action at the Skegness Beach Race, in front of huge crowds on both Saturday and Sunday.

The AMCA-organised event attracted many riders, with the winners taking home prize bonuses of £1,000.

After several weeks away from competition following an accident and broken elbow, Williams took ninth place on a Honda 150.

Daniel Fisher, 11, was seventh on his KTM 85 and 14-year-old brother Luke was unable to carry on after his Honda 150 unfortunately overheated.

The three boys were reunited on Saturday at the annual YMSA end of season presentation in Barnsley.

Williams finished second in the Schoolboys section, Luke Fisher was eighth in Big Wheels and Daniel Fisher fifth in the Juniors.

They were presented trophies by Brad Anderson, England’s number one motocross rider.

Proud mum Kaye Fisher told the Guardian: “As parents we were very proud of our boys and wish them good luck in riding next season.”
