Kurt bags his first motorcross win

LOCAL motorcross rider Kurtis Williams picked up his first win on his Honda 250 at the weekend, after a disastrous few months for the sport.

Many races have been cancelled due to the heavy rainfall, but last weekend’s event at Grange Moor survived and 16-year-old Williams was in action with Whiterose Racing Club.

He finished first in his opening race and second in the next two races.

And there were more celebrations when another local lad, Daniel Fisher, celebrated his 11th birthday with a third place finish in his final race of the day on his KTM 65 bike.
