Worksop Ladies Hockey Club were held to a 2-2 draw in a tough game against top of the table Burton.
Both teams started well and it was evident that they were intent on taking full points.
Worksop battled hard for each ball and had some great spells of pressure early on.
Burton took the lead however, beating the defence and putting two attackers through on the goalkeeper.
Worksop were determined not to let their heads drop and continued to put the effort in.
They had a spell of pressure and were able to gain a short corner, Man of the Match Esther Gray slotting the ball into the net.
In the second half Burton were able to convert a spell of pressure into a second goal.
But Worksop were determined to get something and eventually levelled once more, through Ailsa Gray.
The second team travelled to Boots on Saturday morning and also returned with a draw, finishing 3-3.
Worksop began the game sluggishly and went a goal down, but it spurred them on to gain more posession.
Boots made it 2-0, but the visitors’ determination paid off with the award of a penalty flick, converted by Man of the Match Bella.
The goalscorer was at it again soon after, with a strike from the top of the D beating the keeper.
In the second half Amanda coolly slotted home to make it 3-2 Worksop.
But a late penalty corner was converted by the hosts to secure a draw.
The thirds faced Woodthorpe at home, in a cold early start.
Woodthorpe went ahead with a short corner that they were able to convert.
But in the second half Sian Jago fired home into the corner levelling the score.
Woodthorpe pushed for the win but were denied by good strong defending from Worksop including Man of the Match Cathie Brines.
Worksop IV visited Newark IV and were held to a 0-0 draw.
Jess Sulley who was named joint Player of the Match with goal keeper Alice Pease.
Pease gave her all making several fearless saves to give her side a share of the spoils.
