Worksop swimmer Lucy Ambrose brought home a silver medal from the British Gas ASA National Age Group Championships at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.
The 13-year-old’s years of hard work and dedication were rewarded, as she recorded a time of 2:23:57 in the girls 200m butterfly, to touch the wall in second place.
She also took fifth in the 100m butterfly, in a time of 1:05:01.

Mum Jakki Ambrose paid tribute to the coaches who have helped the youngster progress throughout seven years in the pool.
“A special thanks to Cathy Pritchard and Andy Thompson, coaches at Lucy’s clubs, for their dedication and commitment, not just to Lucy, but to all the other kids who get up so early in the morning,” she said.
“Not forgetting too all the parents of these young swimmers who are so proud of them and support them in every way they can.”
