Harworth and District Cycling Club’s mid week evening time trial at Torworth was the main feature in last week’s sporting calendar for the Retford and District Wheelers.
Paul Austin was the club’s sole representative, finishing the 9.3 mile course in 25 minutes, 7 seconds.
Winner was Jack Stephenson returning a time of 22 minutes 26 seconds in windy conditions.
Meanwhile Andrew Coop-Mann is riding from Edinburgh to London over five days with 19 other riders mainly from Andy’s ship HMS Queen Elizabeth.
The ride is in aid of of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) and is aiming to raise £10,000 for the RNRMC, which will help in its work improving the welfare of serving and former personnel as well as their families.

Topping the club’s Strava League this week was Andy Coop-Mann, who recorded 222.3 miles. Runner-up was Peter Smith on 189.3 miles and in third place with 185.4 miles was Alan Hazard.
The club run this Sunday will be a special event to introduce new riders to club riding.
This event is entirely free and is an ideal opportunity for anyone young or not so young, fit or not so fit to enjoy a short ride at a steady pace around the lanes of north Nottinghamshire.
There will be a cafe stop at half distance; riders under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult - meet in Retford market square at 8am where you will receive a friendly welcome.
