All eight of the home sides progressed from the last 16 of the Worksop Snooker League Knockout Cup, writes Antony Coupe.

The highlight of the week came at Harworth who continued their cup run with a win against Dinnington C.

First up was Steve Boughton who received 40 start from Chris Salt and set off well to increase his lead.

Salt eventually found his form and with several small breaks pulled back the arrears.

On the colours Salt gained a lead but a fine pink and black by Boughton levelled the scores.

In the second frame Mick Burns got 20 points start against Matt Gee and held the lead throughout, and with just pink and black left was 34 in front.

However it was Gee who potted the last two balls though to reduce the deficit to 21 points.

In frame three Stan Smith took on Tom Salt.

Smith got 20 start but it was Salt who set off like a train and pulled back the start.

A fine 39 break by the Dinnington man saw him pull away before two good pots by Smith on the pink and black saw lead reduced to 44 points.

After factoring in the aggregate scores and handicaps Dinnington were in a very strong position going into the last frame with Frank Burke receiving 83 start from the dangerous Jordan Mann.

The start didn’t phase Mann who began to eat into the lead with a 17 break followed by a brilliant 52, meaning Mann was now just 19 behind.

On his next visit to the table Mann constructed a superb 47 clearance to put his side into the last eight to produce one of the best comebacks in Knockout Cup history.
