Tyler Mosienko hasn’t a clue who his linemates will be in a Steelers team packed with new talent.

But the 32-year-old Canadian sees that very much as a positive as he prepares to start his third season in the Sheffield team.

Mosienko was top points scorer for Paul Thompson’s side last year, beating Levi Nelson and Mathieu Roy into second and third place.

Last season he centred a busy and effective line with Guillaume Desbiens and Jonathan Phillips.

“We had good chemistry and we seemed to fit pretty nicely” said Mosienko.

“I’d be happy to play with those guys again should the coach decide to put us together. To be honest looking at the squad we have for this year you are going to be happy whoever you have on your line. We are deep that’s for sure.

“I played with Jesse Schultz in Nuremberg (DEL) and we did well together, he is a very good player and a great signing for us. He can shoot the puck.

“There is a great balance don’t you think to the team. We have size, speed and skill. A great mix of youth and experience.

“I like the mix of North American and European imports, Vesty and Conny (Fred Vestberg and Conny Stromberg) showed last year what a great addition they were. I’m sure the new guys will have the same effect.

Moskieno has benefited from a summer in the gym with fitness coach Danny Mawer.

He says: ““I have to be in the best shape possible to do my job. Working with Danny and so many of the other guys has been great.

“We all push each other along and when the season comes that will show.

WAll the guys are in the shape of their lives. It looks like we will be playing four lines this year, we will be quick, we will chase puck downs and pressure.”
