Double winners and reigning Champion of Champions Prospect Hill were first off the mark this season, beating Redlands 3-1.

After dominating a goalless first half in which Redlands defended with great determination, Zak Berridge eventually opened Prospect’s account.

Kian Smith and Luke Morris got on the scoresheet as the champions finally turned their pressure into goals.

Redlands fought to the end and Charlie Hodgson deservedly hit a fine consolation goal to reduce the arrears.

This week schools should be turning their thoughts to cup matches that have to be played by 1st October.

The draws for the Parry Cup is: Serlby Park v Gateford Park, St Anne’s v Holy Family, Carr Hill v St Augustine’s, Ordsall v St John’s, Ryton Park v Prospect Hill, Sir Edmund Hillary v Redlands.

Byes: Kingston Park, Langold Dyscarr.

Middle Divisions Cup preliminary round: Clarborough v St Joseph’s.
